1. Create a committee of HIMSS Austin members interested in recruiting members, with a three to four member committee that includes the current Chair of the Membership Committee as “Chair” (hereinafter referred to as the “Membership Committee”).
2. The Membership Committee shall meet quarterly and on an as-needed basis. Meetings are to be kept to 1 hour in length, with the exception of the first meeting which may be longer, but no meeting will be more than 2 hours.
3. The Membership Committee will determine a plan for membership recruitment that includes, but is not limited to:
- Identifying member demographics to target
- Identifying networking meetings to recruit potential members
- Developing consistence messaging
- Developing marketing materials to include recruitment letters and thank-you letters
- Other outreach activities as they develop.
4. The Membership Committee shall also assist the Sponsorship Committee through education of sponsorship opportunities and contact information for more information.
5. The Membership Committee shall report back to the board of directors thru the Chair, where updates will be done on a monthly basis.
6. The Membership Committee term shall be 1 year, to serve in accordance with the HIMSS board of Directors calendar year (July – June). Where the first year will begin November 2007 and end July 2008. Members of the Membership Committee shall have the ability to serve multiple years of service on this Committee.
7. The Education Committee term is 1 year to serve in accordance with the HIMSS board of Directors calendar year (July – June).
