Topic: An Update on Industry Certification Activity from CCHIT

Speaker: Dennis Wilson, Certification Technology Director

About Our Speaker:
Dennis has 30 years of software and business development, the last 15 in management positions with, or consulting to healthcare IT companies. Dennis currently is responsible for the interoperability and transaction testing tools used in the Certification Commission’s programs for certifying EHRs and HIEs. Previous roles included introducing disease management and clinical messaging applications, and at MedicaLogic/Medscape he was Vice President of Product Development, responsible for development of the Logician (now GE Centricity) line of EHR products. Dennis earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering and computer science from Texas A&M University.

Topic for the Event:
Dennis will cover details about the new CCHIT Certified 2011 Comprehensive and Preliminary ARRA programs, including key changes to the criteria, and introduction of reference checks and usability testing.
